Our hearts are saddened by the passing of your wonderful matriarch, Fern. I am sure this is a difficult time for the family dealing with the loss, and our good thoughts are with you. She will be remembered as a very kind and caring person that was generous with her time and concern for others. My husband, Garth, was her cousin and I have a nice picture of them when she and Jan visited us on Vancouver Island in 2017. After my husband Garth passed away in 2018, she made a point of calling me often to cheer me up. She has a special place in our hearts and will be missed, but fondly remembered.

My heart goes out to the family of Fern, I worked at HFH with her for many years, and continued our friendship at many HFH dinners. I always enjoyed her company, she always had a smile and a remark and gave me a smile as well. She will be missed by a lot of us nurses. My condolences as well to Jan, I did not know she left us, I was a nurse on duty when she was training at HFH. God Bless Fern and her family June McDougall

To Fern’s family - our sincere sympathy in this time of loss. We have great memories of Fern’s visits to Anglin Lake - all of us sitting on the deck sharing a glass of wine and some laughs. No doubt she and Jan and Jack are once again sharing a glass and watching over all of us. May all your wonderful memories of a kind and gracious woman bring you smiles.

Dear Lloyd Families,
We were so sorry to read of Fern's passing--she was indeed a wonderful, caring person who touched so many lives. Fern was such a comfort and support for my Mom, Jean Tomney, when she had leukemia--always checking in to see if there was anything she could do for her or the family, and taking Mom out for lunch or a coffee.
Over the years I counted Fern as one of my friends as well, and she was always so interested in our lives and also having a good laugh during a visit. What a fun compassionate person she was!
I think she was the last survivor of the "West Hill Neighbourhood Ladies" of the 50s & 60s we all knew so well growing up--our moms and friends' moms who always looked out for the many kids playing in the yards.
I like to think she's joined your Dad Jack, and Jan in a special place where they can keep tabs on us all.
She will be missed by so many, and we feel very lucky to have benefitted from her care and friendship.
Our sympathies,
Joanne (Tomney) & Gerry Willms

Brenda, and the entire family, our most sincere condolences on the passing of Fern. What an amazing women and such a life well lived. In my health care career I remember Fern from her days at the Holy Family Hospital. Her caring was evident then and I am so glad as she aged so gracefully others could extend that caring to her. Mom remembers Fern coming into the Hair Fashions Salon. Such a graceful, kind and personable lady. She will be missed by all! Our thoughts and prayers to you all!
Sincerely
Olga and Lyle Karasiuk

I am very sorry for your loss. Fern and Jack were great encouragers and promoters of building a hospice in Prince Albert. It was Fern who thought of the name Rose Garden Hospice in the very early planning stages. I was an honour and pleasure to have known her.

Auntie Fern and Uncle JB were always very special to Tom and I. They were so good to invite us over for one of their delicious meals and they always showed genuine interest in whatever we and our kids were doing. They both were so good to mom as well. Whether it was driving mom to an appointment, cooking a meal for mom, fixing this or that or dropping by for a visit JB and Fern were always there for mom. I had many memorable and special one on one talks with Fern and
she always imparted such nuggets of wisdom that were carefully wrapped in a generous dose of quick wit. Fern’s sense of humour was remarkable. Auntie Fern was an angel of
care and compassion to all those who met her in this world and now she will be an angel looking over us forever Love you auntie Fern and thank you.
