Sylvia “Sally” Helen Bissonnette

1938 – 2024

 

The family of Sylvia “Sally” Helen Bissonnette announce her sudden passing at her home on January 12, 2024 at the age of 85.

She is survived by her brothers Paul of Keremeos, BC and Terry (Linda) of Prince Albert, SK; her sister Iris (Harry) Minifie of Holbein, SK.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Bissonnette; her parents John and Annie Herchak of Holbein, SK; nephew, Timothy Herchak of La Ronge, SK; and sister-in-law Doreen Herchak.

Sally was born in the Wakaw district on February 5, 1938.  The family moved to the Holbein district in 1942 where she grew up on the family farm.  She attended Holbein School until it closed, and continued her education in Shellbrook where she graduated from Grade 12 in 1956.  She then moved to Calgary, AB where she pursued a banking career, retiring in 2003.  Upon retirement she moved back to Prince Albert where she enjoyed many happy times with family and took part in various activities at the PA Seniors Centre.

Sally's family invites you to join them for a Celebration of her Life on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Prince Albert Heritage Centre, 1211 1st Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK (Northwest parking lot of Gateway Mall).

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729, Paula Hanson, Funeral Director and Mary MacWilliams.
